He talks about travelling to the colliery, nationalisation, working the coal seams, the colliery managers and the colliery owners, Ffaldydre Colliery, mechanisation, the losses made by the colliery in the 1960's and National Coal Board investment, the closure of the colliery, transport problems and management errors, trade union membership at the colliery, the coal tips, the blocking up of the shafts after an explosion, where the workforce was transfered to when the colliery closed, Resolven Miners Welfare Institute and working conditions at the colliery |
